Woman Safe After ‘Disturbing’ Abduction Outside Miami Tire Shop, but Questions Remain

A woman shown on surveillance video being apparently abducted from a Florida tire shop last week is now being reported as safe, but details on what exactly happened are still murky. Per WPLG, Miami police say the woman was found Sunday after the Friday night incident, in which she was dragged away by an unidentified man in a Nissan Altima. The video (CBS News has it), which a police spokeswoman calls “extremely disturbing,” shows the woman going into the Allapattah store, then being yanked out by the suspect, who has his arms around her body, and forced into his car.

A witness says the woman told him, “Call 911. … He’s going to kill me.” That witness also says the suspect ran “like a beast” into the store and beat the woman, hitting her “like 20 times.” Police aren’t releasing many details, like where or how the woman was found, but they said Sunday night that she’s the victim of domestic violence and that they’ve been “in touch” with the man in the video, per KXNet. The woman is said to be in “good condition,” police say, per the Miami Herald. (Read more abduction stories.)
