A 44-year-old Lakeview woman was robbed Saturday night as she parked her car behind her home in the 500 block of West Briar Place, police said. The incident is the latest in a series of hold-ups in the southeast Lakeview neighborhood.
Police said the woman was preparing to exit her car when she was approached by a man who opened her passenger-side door and tried to take her purse, which was sitting on the passenger seat. As a struggle broke out between the woman and the offender, a second offender reached into the car and grabbed the purse. Both men then fled eastbound in the north alley of Briar Place.
Police said the suspects are:
1) A tall, thin, black male between 20- and 30-years-old who wore a red hoodie with black pants and checkered shoes.
2) A tall, thin, black male between 20- and 30-years-old who wore a black hoodie, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
3) A tall, thin, white or Hispanic male wearing a gray camouflage hoodie that is solid black on the lower back. He wore dark pants with black and white shoes.
Last night’s robbery took place less than a block from where a woman was mugged by two men as she walked in the 500 block of West Belmont at 11:45 p.m. on April 17th. In that incident, two offenders jumped the woman near the corner of Pine Grove and Belmont and repeatedly struck her in the face and head as they tried to wrestle away her purse, police said.
On April 14th, a woman was jumped and robbed by three men outside of Nettelhorst School in the 600 block of West Aldine.
