The victim said he was robbed when he tried to get into a black Honda Accord in the 800 block of West Addison around 6:30 p.m. As soon as he opened the door, the man said, the occupants pointed a gun at him and demanded his property.
Police said the man handed over his wallet and phone to the carload of thieves who drove away in an unknown direction. The robbers were four to five black males between 25- and 30-years-old whose car had dark tinted windows, the man said.
• Police said a man who was enjoying some early morning hours at the lakefront wound up being robbed by a group of men—two of whom were armed with guns. The man was near the clock tower at 3650 North Lake Shore Drive when the three men approached him and demanded his belongings at gunpoint around 3 a.m. Saturday.
The offenders took two phones (one with a Beyoncé cover); a portable Beyoncé brand speaker; a wallet and keys before they fled north along the lakefront, the victim said.
He described the robbers as three black men, two of whom had dreadlocks.
• A man told police that he was robbed at gunpoint around 2:40 a.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of North Clybourn. The victim said he was approached by a man who produced a handgun and took his wallet, keys, and two phones.
The offender is described as a skinny white male who’s about 25-years-old. He was wearing a black shirt and fled eastbound from Clybourn, the man said.
