Fugitive Surrenders After ‘Awesome’ Mugshot Edit

Every Wednesday, Illinois‘ Kankakee County Sheriff‘s Office posts a photo of a fugitive on Facebook. But it’s not every “Warrant Wednesday” that the person pictured responds. “I’m appalled … Where’s my costume?” Brandon Conti commented on this week’s post, which showed his own mugshot, per WBBM. “Done!” the sheriff’s office responded after editing Conti into a Scoops Ahoy uniform, in a nod to Netflix‘s Stranger Things.

Conti was apparently impressed. “That’s awesome … I’ll be there before noon please have the paperwork done and ready,” wrote the 25-year-old, who was wanted for missing a Sept. 30 court date relating to a DUI conviction, per the Daily Journal. Conti did indeed surrender later Wednesday, police confirmed. He was then released on bail, per the New York Post. (Read more Halloween stories.)
