An officer at the scene said the men took liquor and cigars from behind the counter and fled northbound in a vehicle, which may be a black Dodge Journey.
Police said the team is displaying a handgun to rob stores of merchandise and cash during the overnight hours.
The robbers targeted a 7-Eleven at 2800 West Irving Park at 5:51 a.m. on Oct. 14, according to the alert. Both men entered the store, one pulled out a handgun, and they proceeded to collect cash from the register as well as cartons of Newport cigarettes and Hennessey cognac. Both offenders wore black durags with black hoodies. One carried a yellow bag containing the robbery proceeds.
One of the offenders wore a skeleton ski mask as the duo took stacks of instant lottery tickets and Juulpod vaping supplies before running out the door. Surveillance video shows one robber wore a gray hoodie that bears a Calvin Klein logo, a white hat, and blue jeans. The other wore a black top with white stripes on its sleeves, a red undershirt, and black pants.
The armed robbery alert described the offenders as two black males. One is 5’11” to 6’2” tall, 160 to 220 pounds, and 40- to 50-years-old. The other is 5’8” to 6-feet tall and 150 to 180 pounds.
